Rev warning lights

Two types

  • Type 1 : Single LED rev setting XXXX to XXXXRPM & LED intensity adjustable for day and night
  • Type 10 : Ten LED with rev range setting from XXXX to XXXXRPM, LED intensity adjustable for day and night & LED changes from green to red at eighth, ninth or last LED (selectable)

Connection to loom

Both types use a standard LCP-04 plug found on the end of many a pc power supply (colours in brackets). Pin connections, colour, function and connection to the loom [Electrical diagrams] are as follows:-

1 - Black (Yellow) - 12V - Any suitable +12V IGN supply (Green) e.g. to boost, oil and voltage gauges [Instruments]

2 - Red (Black) - Lights - Any +12V sidelights feed (Red/White) [NOT +12V sidelights dimmed!] on IPHC B8 [Side & tail lights]

3 - White (Black) - Revs - Ignition coil feed (White/Slate) on IPHC B11 [Instruments]

4 - Green (Red) - Ground - Any suitable Ground (Black) e.g. IPHC C4 or loose feed for analogue clock [Clock & cigar lighter]

Connection to Type 1

Plug connector into box.

Onboard LED should light when ignition is turned on.

Press switch to test LED (plugged into small two pin socket on the side).

Adjust LED intensity for daylight conditions.

Turn on sidelights and LED should dim - adjust for nighttime conditions.

Adjust RPM setting to light LED at desired threshold - WARNING don't try and do this when you're driving, get a friend to do it!

Connection to Type 10

Plug connector into small box.

Onboard LED should light when ignition is turned on.

Connect four way ribbon cable to main box.

Press switch to test LEDs (the display should increase slowly from 1 to 10 LEDs lit then back when the switch is released).

Adjust LED intensity for daylight conditions.

Turn on sidelights and LED should dim - adjust for nighttime conditions.

Adjust RPM setting to light LED at desired threshold - WARNING don't try and do this when you're driving, get a friend to do it!
